Clean-Up Your Gut
By Karim H. Fugel, CHHC www.lettuceandfreedom.com
When we
consider that 70% of our immune system lies in our gut, it may serve as a
motivation to clean house. The change of
seasons is the perfect time to try a de-tox or mini cleanse and the rewards are countless – especially as
we head into the winter months.
Once some simple steps are taken, it
really is possible to get through the season with minimal, if any, bouts of
colds and flu.
We live in a cesspool of viruses and
other organisms that can compromise our health.
Since it is impossible to live in a plastic germ-free bubble, try
actively enhancing your immune system.
This way it can overcome these invaders when necessary.
We do need to flex those immune system
muscles on occasion, so do not be discouraged if you get hit with a bug. It can serve as a reminder to slow down and
enact some extreme self-care measures.
TIPS;
1)
Drink a glass of water with the juice of
half a lemon first thing in the morning.
2)
Eat a healthy dose of pre-biotic containing
foods such as – garlic, asparagus, onions, leeks, legumes & chickory.
3)
Add fermented foods to your diet –
sauerkraut, miso & tamari.
4)
Try a day or two eating mainly vegetables
and clean protein, eliminating sugar, grains & dairy products.

Liver flushes are
